About the awards
Vienna Photo Awards is an independent award for Portrait, Documentary and Editorial photography. The first edition combines category judging with an online showcase, an exhibition in Vienna and a winners’ gala.
What the award is for
Each category has its own juror, bringing specialist experience to Portrait, Documentary and Editorial photography. Together, the three jurors choose the overall winning photograph from the category winners. Selected photographs will be shown online and in an exhibition in Vienna. Photographs can be made anywhere; there is no additional theme.

Awards and dates
The overall winning photograph receives €300 and a medal. In each category, first place receives €100 and a medal; second and third place each receive a medal. Each category also has Honourable Mentions.

- Winners’ gala in Vienna: 20 January 2027
Taking part
Enter up to five photographs across the three categories. Each paid place covers one photograph. Entry fees start at €19 for one photograph.
